Dear Colleagues,
On February 8, 2022, Premier Kenney, Minister Copping and Dr. Hinshaw announced that provincial Public Health measures will be phased out in three steps as the Omicron wave subsides and if pressure on the health-care system eases. As these steps are taken, please continue to use the Pandemic Practice Directive in your practice.
The CCOA and its members are guided by published Chief Medical of Health (CMOH) orders which often lag after public announcements and provide additional requirements for health care professionals like chiropractors. The CCOA adjusts the Directive as new orders are published and will inform you of the changes when that happens. We expect new CMOH orders soon. If those are published by the end of the week, we plan to provide an updated Directive to you on Monday, February 14.
Some municipalities have indicated that they will maintain local public health measures (for example, masking). The College reminds regulated members of the necessity to understand, follow and implement municipal bylaws/public health measures even when they differ from provincial public health measures. If a municipality has public health measures beyond the requirements of the Pandemic Practice Directive or the province, the more rigorous requirement applies.
Best Regards,
