Dear Colleagues:

A new year always brings changes. Among those this year is the departure of the College of Chiropractors of Alberta (CCOA)’s CEO Sheila Steger, effective January 18, 2023.

There have been significant milestones during her tenure over the last six years. These include implementing a record number of several pieces of new legislation, finalizing access to Netcare, navigating the pandemic, and separating the College from the association function and redefining the organization as a stand-alone regulatory body. Last year, Council and the CEO launched a strategic plan complete with a new set of values and strategic goals which positions the CCOA well over the coming years.

Council wishes to thank Ms. Steger for her contributions and wish her well in her future endeavours.

Ms. Steger and Council have worked together prior to her departure to ensure a smooth transition and organizational continuity. As the CCOA Council recruits for a new CEO, Debra-Lynn Clouthier, COO, will serve as Acting CEO.
